Set within picturesque grounds, this Bed and Breakfast ‘Het Chirurgijnshuys’ is situated in the village called Westzaan. Westzaan is close to Amsterdam, Haarlem and other interesting and unique places and also close to several beaches and dunes, worth visiting within the province of ‘Noord-Holland’.
Due to the geographic nature of this area, which consists of moor, this area turned out to be inappropriate for building. They decided to heighten a long strip of land across this area in order to make it suitable for housing. Therefore, the shape of this village is like an elongated strip of ribbon surrounded by stretched land on both sides. Traditional Dutch windmills are also to be found, some of them are still in business.
